It seems pretty obvious to me that the shit we get from china ain't real good for us.

I used to get that Ol Roy dogfood 20 years back, but switched to stuff from Costco and never had to deal with the melamine issues and recalls.

Going to have to open up a side business to verify peoples pet food is safe for their pets... Crazy

I do not feed my animals with any mystery meats in either dry or canned foods... usually called meat by products.. not turkey or chicken by products. Meat by product can include dead cats and dogs.. and drugs involved in euthanasia can be in pet foods with that label.. and cannibalism is a no no to begin with...

Its the same reason PORK /PIG is unclean as pigs have HUMAN genetics in them.. hence the fine hide called Pig SKIN... and the intelligence etc. When you eat Pork.. you are risking eating Human.. Pigs were cross with human genes in the times of the OT.. which is why it is in that to not eat pork as being unclear.

It wasn't too long ago local news (Northeast Texas) was all abuzz about an illegal disposing of his bodies through a meat processing plant that made hot dogs.

One of my drinking buddies would give his dogs hotdogs for treats, always gave him grief for giving his doggies "people food".

I’ve got 3 dogs, never once fed any of them “dog food” we make them a large pot of food once a week and put it in glass Tupperware and refrigerate it.

Usually 3 pounds meat typically chicken or ground beef, a few potatoes or rice, half bag of frozen veggies. only costs about $5-8 per week, way less then buying crap in a can and they eat table scraps when ever there is any...

I’ve never understood why anyone buys dog food unless you have some 110 pound beast to feed. Any of that crap in a can you can make for 5x less and have it be real. People are just lazy or stupid... oh and your dog doesn’t want that nasty trash either. None of my dogs would even take a lick of any of that shit in a can. Just feed them food

But they need to learn to cook for them and what they do and don't eat well first. They need to know what hurts em and what helps. Our 18 year old is getting close to her time, but she has had great years and only slowed down a click last week.

I cook my own dog food.

Chicken, rice, peas, black beans and some other vegetable.

They love it and are healthy.

Glad I stopped using that years ago. My dog suddenly quit eating Pedigree a few months ago also. I figured something must be wrong with it too.

Have to be careful these days. Where else are the horses that are humanly put to sleep going to go? They don't dig graves for them.

I have a 120 lb beast to feed. She is in her last year I'm sure as she has reached the high end of her normal life expectancy. She never had any real health problems at all during her life, except last year when arthritis has settled in her spine, which she is now on meds for.

I contribute her long healthy life to NO CORN, WHEAT OR SOY dog food products, the occasional table scraps and raw bones. She also had a tendency to go drink out of the chicken water bowls instead of her own. The chicken water was always supplemented with low to no sodium bird vitamin mix.

Really? Then why is shellfish forbidden also?

I believe certain foods were forbidden because they carried parasites that could be transmitted to humans if cooked improperly. Nothing more sinister than that.
