I just feel like they are not taking the unrest and USA/Venezuela beef seriously. Or maybe there is no threat at all and it is a big joke? It just seems insane the fly over a country that has so much turmoil in it.

If they shot down an American airliner, Trump would bomb Caracas and grab the oil fields. They know better than to do that.

That's a really damn good point considering he was shooting off AA guns in a show of military force a few days ago.

It would take about 4 hours to dust a few of the places where Maduro is hanging out. 4 hours tops.

I delivered 3 737s to Venezuela, about 2 years ago, to a new airline. On one of the deliveries, we missed our commercial flight back to MIA and had to stay there overnight. We needed an entire unit of ex-military security personnel to protect us on the way to the hotel, and then back to the airport the next morning.

As for flying in the airspace; it was, and still is, no problem. Airspace is sacred to these failing states. They make a lot of money in over-flight permits so they protect this money flow carefully. The problem is when you have rebel forces with high-altitude-capable anti-aircraft weapons that are not participating in that cash flow. Even then, shooting down an airliner can quickly turn the public opinion on both sides against you...

No, many are aware and red pilled on how the world is just theater and both sides of every conflict are controlled by one group.

Watch how after we move on Venez. Russia / China won't do a thing except perhaps sanctions. Everything, everything is fixed and scripted.

Thank you for your input.

There are US civilian airliners flying inside the Iranian air space every day of the year.

Not sure about US military aircraft. Maybe they do too. U-2 or other.

Re: Does it strike anyone as irresponsible that Delta/American and others still flying over Venezuela? Update *now avoiding
NO!

During the height of the Cold War US airlines flew over Cuba EVERY DAY, and still do today. (in fact the US supplied Cuba with it's radios and even it's air traffic control radar as I recall for it's Air Traffic Control System just so airlines could do those overflights, even during the cold war - we did that since Cuba could not afford the equipment)

Civilian Aviation overflights of countries that are somewhat opposed to each other have been a regular fixture of Aviation for decades. Russia, China, North Korea, and during the Vietnam War, North Vietnam have been the only large exceptions to those overflghts over the last 70 years.
