Min wage in VA is 7.25. Rate of pay per the document is 12.25. So why does nobody local take the job? These jobs are advertised on the winery website too.

I just told you the job is on their website, any American can apply and will have preference, includes some benefits.

I work for a Vineyard & Winery in Virginia. I know Trump Winery Well. I know his wine maker well. Let me tell you from first hand knowledge: there are more job openings in Virginia than people applying. Let me also tell you from first hand knowledge most Americans are to lazy to do Vineyard work. I applaud Trump winery for hiring "LEGAL" immigrants to come do the jobs that lazy Americans won't do. Our republic was founded on immigrants. Legal hard working immigrants are not the problem. A flawed immigration system, along with lack of border security is! If anyone here has a problem with hiring LEGAL immigrants to do Vineyard work, feel free to drop me your resume, I am always hiring. Come see how hard vineyard and cellar work truly are.

This - I've traveled from the DC end of VA all they way to the tidewater area for the past 15 years. The Virginia economy is BOOMING! Tons of construction and healthy support for small businesses. They are attracting workers from all over the country and the world.

None of you have a clue about running out in the country ranches or wineries.

This is backbreaking, hard work.

The older guys who came from Mexico when there was no border fence, no welfare, no driving license or bank account were here to work.

They all came from ranches in Mexico where they knew the hard work it took. They came to work, not get free things from gringo.

Most of the white people don't want to do this work at all and frankly, they suck at it. I'm talking about digging trenches by hand, installing heavy and large fence posts out in the woods by hand, dealing with wild animals and working in the hot sun. Try pruning 40 acres of grapes with a crew over a week and see how your hands feel. Most people want an easy desk job, not this kind of work.

Even the latest batches of Mexicans are worthless, they last no more than one day and then quit. They are looking for easy work like sitting on a tractor, section 8 free housing, EBT cards and free healthcare.

This work involves serious physical labor and it's not for everyone.

The good news is if we get enough doom, everyone will have to get out in the fields and make their own food. Everyone will have to do backbreaking work again and not be so lazy.

What type of position and what do you say is "very good" pay? Just curious. Jobs that pay over $50K can hire hundreds of workers who are qualified and have superb job and life skills. The only jobs I know that cannot be filled are ones that have some huge issue with them so far as safety, hours, or pay.

I think that is what is referred to as Hire American.

Bring in foreigners to work for low wages is a good thing for corporate profits.
