There's a limit to how much this can scale; YouTube/Google have daily API limits and I'm already utilizing a large percent of my daily limit. In theory I can increase that limit by creating additional API keys, but at some point they'd catch on and probably shut me down. The other issue with demanding money to see the content the bot is reposting is that I fear it could tread too close to the "extortion" line by forcing these channels to pay me in order to see what the bot captured and ask me to take it down if it contains their private info, dox, etc.

I will say though that it's likely someone will try to make the case to Discord at some point that it's against their terms of service to do this, even if it's not against the law. I don't think this bot falls under the banner of "harassment," but someone will probably try to claim it does.

Theres this guy, he does numerology, gematria and shit like that . He had went through about 20 other channels because youtube keeps hitting him. He keeps fighting tho.

Basically the guy that runs the channel has a group of people that use gematria to predict the outcome of sporting events, apparently they are pretty damn accurate with all there predictions . Youtube doesnt like it at all . Im not sure i should even put his channel on blast on account of millions of people visiting this site each day . I wouldnt want an increase in traffic set off any red flags . Buttttttt since GLP is the shit, here it is .

Yes, it's currently monitoring the latest 50 videos of a dozen different channels. I could push it to monitor all video of those channels, but the length of the patrol loop would increase exponentially and there would be a much greater increase of deleted comments slipping through the cracks. I figure the latest 50 videos is where most of the activity is going to be. In most cases even the latest 10 or 20 videos would probably be sufficient and I may go that way if I add more channels to the patrol. It sweeps over those channels and videos and logs every comment it sees by the comment's ID tag. When it comes back around on the next pass, if there are any comment ID's missing it reports those as deleted comments.

Dude you could make it way faster by just scraping the response to the shitty dynamic comment field (IDK what SpewTube uses at the moment, probably shitty obfuscated JS) to your own simple *nix box, do "cmp" on the comment returned data per unit of time and go from there. WAYYYYYY faster than using crufty cloud solutions like Discord (whatever that is). I lost interest as soon as I saw you required that I sign up for yet another crappy "cloud service" just to view the shit, personally.

That's an interesting idea, though I'd have to use an external service to host the server. Maybe something like freenode? It's been a while since I used IRC and I don't recall a lot of details about it, would it be possible to set up a series of channels like this where only the bot has permission to post messages?

Instead of blowing huge amounts of bandwidth streaming video of text comments deleted from various YouTube channels, I've launched a dedicated Discord server and turned my YouTube comment deletion monitoring bot into a Discord bot. It now posts all deleted comments (whether deleted by the author, the channel it was posted on, or by YouTube admins/bots) to Discord, sorted into channels representing each channel the bot is monitoring. It also shows the comment author's screen name and embeds the video the comment was originally posted on.

You'll find the Discord link in the description, but the communication is strictly set up to be one way so that the only thing visible are the deleted comments the bot is posting. Sorry, it's not intended as a chat room, but feel free to share and discuss the content of the deleted posts right here. Also feel free to suggest new channels to monitor. If I like the idea I'll consider adding it to the patrol list.
