This story is the perfect gun advertisement.

The Law Enforcement rule is keep a 21 foot distance from a suspect with a knife, and if he comes any closer, start shooting. During WW2, Army Manuals were put out concerning Japanese Swordsmen, and how quickly they'd cut your body in half. The manual stated very clearly that if you see a Jap with a Sword, SHOOT HIM. Don't even get close to him, because he'll draw his sword and cut you into pieces, before you even have time to react with your firearm. All the false confidence in the world won't save you from some of these MONSTERS they let roam the earth. And as a female, I would say it is even LESS LIKELY that she would be able to draw - more likely to have the weapon taken by the perp taking into account the average size and strength difference. Training not included. TAXI's have GLASS or BARS for a reason. I am an advocate for UBER and LYFT convenience and considered driving ...but nah...too dangerous even armed. She had 3 other children who are now motherless and possibly orphaned... This whole discussion is asinine considering she was killed, and she did not have a gun. If she had a gun she might have been able to save herself regardless of how much bigger or stronger he was. She did manage to exist the vehicle before he continued the attack so that could have been her chance. We will never know for sure one way or the other.
