I wouldn't be able to sit in the middle of them either. Breathing their air while their arms rubbed against mine. Ugh. You know she didn't have any leg room either. But I'm claustrophobic. I can't handle tight spaces.

Same as for luggage people should pay extra once they weigh more than x lbs.

It's bad enough stuck in the center seat between your two daughters. Cannot imagine my 110lb body stuck between 2 huge fatties that cannot even begin to fit in a United Airlines coach seat.

The airline was fully aware how big these two were when they checked in. They have an obligation to provide the other passenger a place to sit with adequate room. She did not handle the situation properly but they ensured they were comfortable at the expense of another. They should be charged for the additional seat due to their extreme size. That woman would not have been able to move what-so-ever for 4 hours and the flight attendants knew another seat was available and should have just moved her to avoid any issues before she sat down. The flight fosters show them all vacancies.

They have packed coach seats so tight as is because they have to squeeze every last nickle. I dont blame her for wanting to move. But why be such a bitch about it? You could even tell them you are cramped up in a decent way.

However it IS a little shady that the people involved have some sort of media exposure.

The woman could have quietly left her seat, asked the airline steward to find her another seat without being so mean.

However, the airlines should install about 4 "extra large seats" that they charge more for and put anyone over a certain weight in them because it is so uncomfortable to sit next to these fatties.

The fat-shamer had a point, but she was just nasty about the way she went about it.

Time to start putting the fat asses in the cargo hold.

I agree, she handled it badly.

Flight attendants have to deal with so many assholes, i find that when you make a polite request, treat them with respect, they will go out of their way for you.

I would have been very unhappy too, but would have walked my size 1 butt to the back, discreetly explained the matter to the flight attendant, and nicely asked to be moved, or placed on another flight (if my schedule permits).

The 400 lb fat guy was half in the aisle he was so damn huge.

Then they cry discrimination and play the race card. Will sue the airline and win. UGH! Disgusting! That's what the airlines face! Civil rights lawyers and groups. They are everywhere. Whites have no rights.

This woman got thrown off because she was uncomfortable between two fat asses? Those fat asses knew what they were doing by taking the window and aisle seat. They even understood they were too fat to sit side by side. So this lady is forced between them, then kicked off because other passengers are afraid she may have hurt the fat asses' feelings.

They should have either moved one of the fatties or moved her, not kicked her off.

I think we all would have a right to angry.

There seems to be a complete logical disconnect when it comes to air transport in particular and public transport in general.

For starters, I think each passenger and their luggage should be weighed and the combined total regarded as their 'flight weight'.

Each passenger's 'weight allowance'(WA) should relate to this total. So, if the WA is, say, 120Kgs (264lbs) then everything over that should be subject to an excess charge. The charges should relate back to the cost of getting the aircraft and manifest safely from A to B.

When it comes to accommodating passengers this should relate to their physical needs and any requirements that affect the comfort and safety of all on board.

So, each seat type should have a limit as to the physical form it can accommodate. If you don't fit into seat type 'Standard' then you need to pay for a seat type that will accommodate your body shape and weight.

The current system is irrational and by pandering to the loony left they discriminate against the majority and endanger all on board, fatties and lefties included.

People that size need to ask for seat belt extensions and cannot lower their tray tables. I've seen it. Pathetic.

Try sitting 8 hours on an transatlantic flight, being 6'7 tall, knees painfully squeezed into place by carefully placing each foot opposite of each, and an unruly Russian in the seat in front who wants to put his seat back down..

She has nothing to complain about.

Best would have been if the morbidly obese had to WALK to the destination, they need it.

Don’t these obese people also present a major problem if the plane has to be evacuated quickly in case of an emergency? This woman handled the whole thing badly but what if she had to move fast to get out? She would have been toast. Or any of the obese people for that matter. What a nightmare.

My husband fits the profile you described and pays extra for extended seating on a transatlantic flight.

That would really suck.

Several times I have had an aisle seat, and saw a nearby, very tall fellow passenger, in a window seat, and offered to switch seats with him. They all accepted, very gratefully so.

Hope to have earned some nice karma for having done so.

This is the problem. They were sitting on the window and aisle seats which meant that any normal sized person had to squeeze in between them. They were effectively taking up THREE SEATS and paying for two.

I'm glad this woman spoke up and we can see how SHE was abused because she embarrassed two pigs who were doing THE WRONG THING. I hate this fat shaming bullshit. Anyone that FAT SHOULD be ashamed. And that fag should go sit in between the two of them, I don't see him offering to exchange his seat.

We are victimizing NORMAL people and rewarding and celebrating the abnormal. This will not end well.
