Same thing that President Herbert Hoover (Republican) did in the early 1930s, shortly after the Great Stock Market crash of 1929. But he pushed income taxes up to the 80-percentile level. His successor, Franklin Roosevelt (Democrat), wanted to raise it to the level favored by Omar.

We all know how that worked out.
