The problem with religion is it's pure cope for the trials of reality

It's the same thing as a teenager's bedroom. Their bedroom can be a place they go to sleep and study, OR, it can become their sanctuary from reality, their place to hide away from reality in. They can eventually grow up to be hermits that never leave their room.

Religion is the same. Religion could be Sunday readings, singing and celebrating a week of lessons learned and understood. Could also be daily prayers. OR, religion can easily be a sanctuary for a person to use to hide from reality. Essentially becoming a hermit. They fall so deeply down the hole of religion that jesus becomes the answer to everything. Religion becomes pure cope for their inability to thrive through the daily stress of life. Reality is too much for them so they escape reality and live within the confines of religion. These hermits are seen by others as mentally handicapped as their answer to 5+7=jesus. You don't need nothing but jesus. Love for earthly things is false, only love jesus....just love jesus and it'll be ok! No such thing as evolution, only jesus. These are the sayings of a person using religion to escape reality. This person is an addict. They were bound to use something powerful to escape reality, whether it was going to be drugs, alcohol, politics or religion...When jesus and mother mary become the focal answer to more than 50% of all questions, that means that the person is losing touch with reality
