I've watched this video but my research seems to indicate the nova happens at the end of the Ice Age cycle not at the beginning.

The cause of the Ice Age as I read it is due to high volcanic activity caused by a rising neutron count from the Sun. This is very evident at the moment.

The Nova event, as well as melting the ice very rapidly also explains many of the historic flood stories.

Either way it does make sense.
