Wrestling and Boxing is the best combo, Both keep you on your feet and strengthen your core and balance to do so.

Boxing gives you ko power and ability to fight multiple people at once without having to kick which kicking opens you to being taken down.

Wrestling helps keep you on your feet and the ability to get back up in case taken down.

Trying to kick in a street fight can be the end of you.

You're not giving kicks even nearly enough credit. A skilled footworker can destroy a straight boxer.

Sure be in trouble if that wrestler gets hold of him though. But that's still not a simple task. The wrestler has to either push through superior range and power or sit and wait for a catch.

Surely, no-one is going to suggest 540 kicks in the pub, but a single front kick to the diaphragm or solar plexus area fucking hurts.

I whole-heartedly support the use of stop-kicks too, despite their being labelled inefficient and silly.
