I am not saying it is an excuse, it is just provided as explanation for how something so awful could have come to pass. I don't know for certain it was related to the PTSD, but can only speculate. We really have no idea what went so wrong with him. When my daughter entered the apartment he was rambling incoherently and not making any sense whatsoever. She had just spoken with him a couple of hours before and he was normal. He hasn't been coherent since the incident.
