NASA expects the asteroid, dubbed Asteroid 2019 BB5, to dash past the Earth today on a so-called “Earth Close Approach”. The space agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has narrowed the flyby down to 10.18am GMT (Thursday, February 8). The shock asteroid news comes just one week after JPL astronomers first observed the space rock barreling towards Earth. NASA first spotted Asteroid BB5 on the night of January 30 and last tracked it on Monday, February 4. It doesn't seem that it's of much concern to them if they last tracked it on Monday? Looking at the time it should either have gone past/entered the earths atmosphere by now - anyone know what happened with it? |

Yes, its a small one but the small ones could be an indicater of much larger ones on the way raining down on us, considering that there has been an uptick in lots of meteor sightings globally recently... ~Blue Spirit~ |
