Mental Case User ID: 76747703 United Arab Emirates 02/08/2019 10:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm trying to quit & an E-CIG is helping! I take 2 puffs of an E-cig and I'm good for an hour. But then there comes a point where I want to hit the E-cig too much so I smoke a half of a real ciggie. Countering them like this I am now down to 5 ciggies a day & about 20 puffs off the E-cig...and quite comfortably...no pain & mostly no mental freak out! I REALLY think I will be able to quit this time! If I am going to be damned...I am going to be damned for who I really am! |

Taper down herbally. Arrange a trip to another country, say, Costa Rica, for dental work. Their cigarette packages, when you can find them, feature the mouth-full-of-butts photo. Being in a foreign country will seriously distract you perhaps enough to not smoke for the duration, and maybe you can keep that up once you get home, having prepared yourself to do so. |

I want to quit, I NEED to quit, but it helps my chronic pain and keeps me from losing it sometimes. Ugh!!! Quoting: Southern Deplorable GABA powder for pain. Find Billie Jay Sahleys books. It’s more expensive than it used to be but twenty bucks buys a bottle and a cookie. Magnesium etc. Smoke an imaginary cigarette to keep from losing it. Practice sometimes. Use a prop. Cinnamon stick works fine. Strike a March or flick your box. Inhale and hold the pretend smoke. Exhale. Smoke the whole imaginary cigarette. It’s actually great because you can smoke all kinds of places you aren’t allowed. Or blow air the way you blow smoke. It calms the central nervous system. Or sing vooooo in as deep a tone as you can, lips far from your face, like a foghorn. Good to calm, good for the voice, freaks out peoooe who have lit your fuse. |

The tendons and things that hold my head on feel like those plastic coated chain cables for bicycles. And that hurts. And my scalp hurt. And I smell and taste something weirdly familiar, onions and winter cold. Probably bronchitis. If I cough up green gunk I’ll come here to complain. I’ll complain about why I can’t see my doctor. That was some Coyote Medicine there. There are no local saunas but I bet I can built a hot hot wood fire and sweat outside when the weather warms. If I burn my fingers I’ll be sure to come here to complain. There’s doom afoot. Not just me. Big Doom. I hate when that happens. |

Today’s big complaint is that my family does not respect me as they should. They don’t remember all I’ve done for them or how offered I have been proven right. They give me a big Cassandra Comex and make me feel anxious and inferior on purpose. What bitches! That is all. Perrier with lime mixed with yoghurt saves me. |

Had a stroke, her left half is gone. Took her 3 months to learn to talk again. HANG IN THERE! Your body says thanks! Maybe not right now, but you are going to be so happy to be free of smoking. |

VegasRick User ID: 32224200 United States 02/10/2019 07:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Get the damn vape juice like everybody else does. I quit smoking after twenty years by using the vape. I was smoking 2 packs a day. It's been two years and not ONE SINGLE cigarette. Don't buy from one of those local "vape stores." Those places are a ripoff. Go online and find yourself a good deal. I get the juice for CHEAP and spend about 8 bucks a month. What are you waiting for? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77115786 United States 02/10/2019 08:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After smoking heavily for 30 plus years and trying to quit many times and failing, I had my last cig on March 13,2013. Although I loved cigs, I hated my odor and health and now I exercise daily with no breathing issues and love that I haven't thought of my once constant companion in years. I became nicotine free by using the gum replacement for about 6 months and than weened myself off that with a nicotine-free strip oral program for another month. I then was addicted to regular chewing gum (smoking is an oral habit at the end of the day) for another 6 months but then stopped that too. I didn't gain weight doing it this way either. So, it can be done because I was the person voted least likely ever to quit because I enjoyed it so much but those folks who boasted of being casual smokers... Are still casually smoking and can't believe I've lasted so long. I'll never smoke again, You too can do it! |

HUNNY wondering wanderer User ID: 76982779 United States 02/11/2019 05:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been smoking for about a decade now, for some reason I just can't stand the taste of a cigarette anymore, I rarely even finish a cigarette, I only smoke about three a day at most mow. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53629770 This is exactly what happened to me! I have been smoking menthol since 96. It is NOT what it used to be. I started noticing it more and more... ..it tasted off, so I smoked less and less and as of today, it has been 1 week since I even bothered. Incredibly, yesterday,I realized I am no longer a smoker ,so I downloaded the quitting apps ...and honestly... they encouraged me. I have saved $50 ..this last week and I can breathe deep!! I doubt I'll smoke again because the pleasure of it was gone. One day I am smoking a pack but not finishing cigarettes because they tasted bad, next day...I just skipped the store and haven't bought anymore. Idk why. All I can say is that I feel completely different and I can get a deeper breath than I could a week ago. Jesus is the WAY. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53629770 Since RJ Reynolds bought Santa Fe Tobacco American Spirits haven’t been as good. Must be distribution storage issues because they say they haven’t altered the cigarette. Loose tobacco in hemp paper is still good. Strong, but good. I’m not convinced I won’t ever smoke again but I hope I will smoke only clean tobacco if I do. In a pipe maybe. It’s sacred and what ultimately helped me jump back out this time is the desecration of the sacred. |

It’s a little bit sad but I’m really trying to not indulge being a trifling bitch. I’m not sure where the impulse comes from! It’s really cold and overcast and I have to bundle up and go cut poison ivy vines while saps down. It will be fine once I’m dressed and out there but I figured out lowing dopamine low cortisol is for shit for dreading a thing. That’s all. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71379026 United States 02/11/2019 05:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I vowed to quit when cigarette taxes went sky high years ago. As anyone with an addiction can tell you, there are ways around everything. I purchased an electronic cigarette roller and now make a pack of smokes in minutes for 66 cents. I kept to my vow. I'll never pay over six bucks for a pack of smokes ever! The only thing that is going to make me quit is when it is illegal to make your own. Sadly, I go to great lengths to hide my devious habit. No smoking indoors, auto or around others. I'm fastidious about the odor on me and take great lengths not to offend. People are often shocked when they find out I smoke. I'll never quit. Even in the face of my health. Sad. Don't be me. |
