If they're not addicted, I suggest not getting drunk. Maybe they're a bit alcoholic. there's no shame to it, just avoid more than a very moderate amount of booze.

Vegas is a sick place. All so showbiz and fake. Sure there are some decent people there as anywhere, but it's so much harder to have a decent life there. See how much trouble you had because of it. OP and wife are normal people taken in by Vegas.
