So I just started a job that I wanted but a better one just came up today....need advise.

I've had tons of jobs in my life and I stayed at ones that I didn't like and I hated my life at that time, all of my advice is is find out if you're going to hate your life in a year at the new job or at the other job which will be better, my advice take the one thats gonna send you the most places in life and spontaneous so you never get burnt out

Just remember it was your current company's decision to fire a person to make room for you...not your decision. You do not really owe them anything and if just about any company was met with a decision to make, they would not hesitate in the least in firing anyone (as they clearly showed, hiring you).

Most businesses would fire you in a heartbeat if it was economically feasible and have no employee loyalty, so you should not feel bad. Just tell them you were offered a position that was more in line with what you are looking for. No harm, no foul. You don’t owe them anything.

They probably didn't fire someone to hire you. They probably just made that up so that you didn't want to leave. When people have to play mind games with you to keep you and make up stories, don't feel bad to leave them in the dust. If its a better opportunity with better pay and you think it would be better overall after weighing the pros and cons, don't feel bad to leave them in the dust. Don't get emotionally attached.

the thing is, I asked them to wait for a week so I can weigh my options, and they did... they could of easily found someone new during that time as they had other candidates. I should of never accepted the job.

Is the other job with a company you will like working for? Give your current employer a chance to match the pay.

At the end of the day you need to be cut throat as fuck and look out for yourself and your family and fuck all else. Make sure you do thorough research on both companies and try to make the best long term decision based on your instincts. One important thing is a companies fiscal standing. You don't want to stay at a company that offers you better pay that has made bad financial decisions leading to layoffs in the past. You also need to try and pick the company that you instinctually feel will give you the greatest respect for you as a human being.

I was laid off on the 28th after taking a job that had a fantastic contract. They were fiscally unstable come to find out and also honorless dogs - stealing over $6 million in contracts from my hard work. Now I have 4 job offers on the table and am trying to rake in a couple more early next week. I'll lay them all out on the table and seek advice from locals in the business, family, and also make a determination based on my research on all the companies

Take the better job. This shouldn't even be an issue. You've only been at this current place for a week you owe them zero loyalty. Don't feel guilty for doing whats best for you and your life.

yea the new job is something I can make a career, the job I secured is a dead end job.

why feel guilty, chances are they are excited about you because they screwed you and can fill their need cheap.

negotiate for hire pay, they fired a previous employee for one reason, they conned you to work cheaper.

This happened to me. I took a job that I needed and thought would be cool, but it was a nightmare. For me it's all about the atmosphere of the office, the attitudes, etc. The office was full of monsters, literally. For a while I did both jobs, working from 8-3 at one and 4-12 at the other. The 4-12 was me alone in a really cool small hotel hanging out with the cat and taking reservations. Ultimately I couldn't keep doing 16 hour days and left the first one with all the sniping bitches. In retrospect I should have just left them cold from the get go. I kept in touch with another person there and she said it is still miserable.

This should tell you all you need to know. If you stay at the dead end job you will hate yourself in the future.
