They will send troops, maybe only contractors to overthrow or kill Maduro (legit elected President) and put a non-elected Western puppet in his place.

Of course Maduro is no angel. This does not mean we have to invade and place somebody of our own choice at the head of the country.

I am for non-intervention unless asked to intervene by their local authorities. Invasion/occupy/destroy is never a good thing.

Vietnam and Afghanistan aren't even similar to Venezuela. Venezuela lacks basic things to make a war with America draw out. The Vietcong had several large powers supporting it and they had land routes to supply the fight and make it bad for the US, I would love to see Russia or China keep Venezuela supplied for war access 2 oceans and several unfriendly countries....oh and the US Navy. Afghanistan is historically hard to occupy and "win" it lacks any real government and is an assortment of waring tribes that all have different loyalties and wants, it's a mess and taming it is basically impossible, ask the Soviets. Venezuela doesn't have a United people, doesn't have any meaningful outside support,and doesn't have enough supplies to hold out. Right or wrong if the US invades Maduro's government is finished and his supporters will surrender soon after.
