What’s the real cause of the Dodge Death Wobble?
 Quoting: Mr. Janet Yellen

A combination of worn front end parts and tires with high road force contribute to a self sustaining front suspension cycle.

Start with a thourghal inspection and a very healthy steering dampener.

It's not just a dodge or jeep thing, Fords are notorious for it as well.

First thing you should do is check the air in your tires.

Good idea.

While you're doing that if you see any mud in your wheels, clean it out. Mud has a terrible effect on wheel balance.

My 2007 cobalt SS went into limp mode yesterday (governing out at 60 km/h with ‘engine power reduced’ message on the dash display). This is accompanied by the traction control service light. The last time it went into this mode it was the MAP sensor, replaced it at GM dealer and fixed the problem. That was 2 years ago. What are you thinking?

On a Jeep specifically, a loose or worn front trackbar is the first thing to check , aswell as front control arms. Tire wear /balance and rotations should be done regularly especially when lifted and running larger mud tires. Proper toe for front alignment should be checked aswell. A heavier new front steering stabilized tends to just mask an underlying problem. As you stated , worn front end parts are to be looked at. Worn Ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel hubs can all contribute to a death wobble.
Although if newer on jeeps , that freakin front track bar tends to be a major contributor. Either not torqued to spec or if lifted , a bracket installed that doesn’t match up with drag link angle. Thanks for your help on here, just figured I’d throw in my two cents on jeeps . I’ve had nine of them over the years.

There is also talk about a new smaller jeep (smaller than the Renegade) to be released soon.

If rumor holds, is it based on the Fiat Palio Adventure? That crossover is BADASS like NO OTHER.

When the one great scorer comes to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost but how you played the game.

The stance and stare of a wolf you find yourself alone with will tell you that he is prepared to treat you as you would treat him. Whether that comforts or frightens you, he has told you all you need know about both.

As a transmission tech I've seen our transmission repairs drop even as we have ten times the vehicles on the road as we dis in the 90's when I started.

It's getting difficult to make a living on flat rate. They will engineer us out of a job.

Why does the chrysler headliner fall down after 10 or 12 years? Why do they use plastic headlights instead of glass like in past years. It got so bad that I left the lights on high and NOBODY ever told me to lower my beams. Even then, I couldn't see the road.
Did the Chrysler engineers laugh when they made changing the back 3 sparkplugs impossible to change?

When I saw the title of this thread my breath was taken away. I am just absolutely gob smacked.

Let me set the scene. I live in a small valley in the western cape. I have not had a car for the past two months.
Why, well because I have the most beautiful car imaginable, a Chrysler Voyager 1999. It carried myself and my four journeys on the most life defining outings.

So she still drives really well but her oil pump has gone and I have tried everywhere in South Africa to get one. Dealers, scrap yards etc. nothing.

So daily I have imaginary conversations with Chysler saying like don't make such good engines if you don't want to service them after 20 years.

I don't want a new car. I just want to continue with this one til my end days. She really is the car of a lifetime.

What to do?

I drive it like I'm an old lady hauling eggs and the engine still runs and the trans still works. 2000 Chrysler town and country 3.8 I had to replace the computer for it to run once. The brakes seem to be inherently weak.

Why are ~2010 Jeep Patriot transmissions such garbage?
My girlfriend's has had so many issues with the 4wd system and shifts like crap(automatic CVT). First to second and second to third feel really rough and for some unknown reason they never saw it fit to equip them with a dipstick to check fluid levels.
