If this was going to be pointed up at the sky we would be winding up declaring war on another alien species in our own star system the the end of the month most likely. Even at a fraction of a second that much laser power would most likely outright destroy literally anything it touches for at least a light year away. Humanity is so dang destructive and hateful towards our own planet. Why...? There are no scientific benefits to be had here...
