Re: You owe the person who hired you, loyalty.
Don't agree at all. You get hired, you do the work, you get paid. That's the end of the story.

If some other company offers you more, you leave and work for them.

Selling your time and labor is about taking care of your family and yourself. It is never, ever about loyalty to a company.

Not only no but HELL NO! you don't owe them anything other than to do the the best you can at the task you were hired to perform for an agreed upon amount of $ and X amount of hours.

Loyalty is earned and you are blessed if you have an employer/employee that is worthy of your loyalty.

How is he a loser for those quotes? As an executive in the corporate world if I mentioned loyalty in a management meeting in any of the companies I had worked for I would get laughed at for being a fool. Those quotes above would be repeated and I have heard them repeated.

In theory I agree loyalty, particularly for family businesses. Corporate America however laughs at your loyalty.

I wish I had known this when I was younger. I gave loyalty to people and companies that did not deserve it.

You have to look out for yourself since no one else will. Especially those you give loyalty to who spit upon your loyalty and work ethic due to whatever insecurities, emotional or mental issues some people have. More often some will considering selling or merging the company resulting in laying offs to make a buck for themselves without a second thought about your loyalty.

Re: You owe the person who hired you, loyalty.
You may get moved to other bosses, but ultimately, who ever is your direct manager or direct report has hired you or accepted you as part of their team. If there is weirdness there or his policy is not to your liking then YOU should move on if you cannot work it out.

This person accepted you to their team, they have put their own success partially, maybe wholeheartedly in your hands.

They owe you nothing, they could chose thousands of other people, yet they chose or choose you every day.

Ultimately you should mold your own work ethics, style and performance to their expectation. You two are a team, like it or not. He/she will take the pain and sometimes the heat from your failure or NOT. The not times come when you have disrupted the trust.

This is how you move ahead. Make your boss believe you are essential to their success and get THEM promoted. They will almost always bring you along. They were likely there where you are at some point, and they likely have a boss too. Help your boss make his boss happy.

This rant is n case no body ever opened your eyes before.

Feel free to thank me with your next promotion.

Too bad the people who do the hiring have no loyalty at all to you. You are a number and a burden. If you are no longer needed you will be dismissed with nary a thought towards loyalty.

You owe only if you have ownership in the company. Other than that you owe them shit because you are shit in their minds. Start something that has value or figure out how the company you work for values you enough to give you a part of it or go elsewhere. You have nothing if you do not have a percentage in the company.

You are one of those that have trouble following. The best leaders are the best followers. yah, i realize you don't understand a fkn thing that I am saying, but it's true. Time to grow up.

I bet you use the word 'should' and 'shouldn't' in your daily intercourse with others. You always look at your world as a victim.

You are describing a slave-master relationship, not a employee-employer relationship.

As a former employer I know what I'm talking about.

The employees dont need the employer .... the employer needs the employees. Without a happy work environment, happy employee morale, your company turns to shit real fast. Companies with poor leadership who abuse and take advantage of employees learn real fast that the employees are the ones who are the driving force and stability of company.

Time to grow up.

well, if my Boss is promoted Godfather of all Godfathers in New York without having to kill anyone, I'd be proud of my job. Even though I am not from his world and neither he isn't from mine, we share the same Underworld and we shall both rule as Lord and Emperor within our own reach.

^^^^^ this

I have a highly technical job and work for a multi-billion dollar worldwide corporation.

I dont make minimum wage, but in three years, I have only gotten a total of 1.4% raise.

As well, my company recently raised their new hire wage to what I currently make. So, all new hires, with no expierence in the industry, now make what I make. I have worked in this industry for 23 years, 3 years at my current position, I have a recent and relevant college degree, and after three years at this place, i now make what they hire a new inexperienced employee at.

There are people in my department who do nothing until overtime is activated. These people also have no personal life. They would live at work if they could.

I have children and a family, and do not want some no life ass holes at my work setting the standard for overtime expectations. I bust my ass and get far more done in eight hours than these jerks get done in 12 hours, and it goes un-noticed because my spineless boss is afraid to tell these slackers to get more done on straight time. There are people in my department who have worked there longer than the department manager (my boss), so they are untouchable and my boss let's them do what they want, because hes a pussy, and then all the real responsibility fall on me.

Fuck my pussy spineless boss. I owe him nothing, and he owes me a higher wage.

Money is just pieces of paper, worth nothing. work is actual toil, sweat, blood. you owe the person paying you money nothing

your employer owes you for exploiting you with satan's gimmick and con game.

that money was issued by satan himself, to other satanists and it eventually trickled down to an evil person they knew, who eventually got to use it to fuck you in the ass every minute of your life

Owe is also we O or ow e like a bruise. When someone reaches across the cosmos to save your ass and nurture you into a better person and build up your skills, get on your fucking knees and volunteer and do what is asked of you until the next opportunity comes forward. To do otherwise is to look a gift horse in the mouth - to bite the hand that feeds you - to rebel for the sake of rebellion is simply not an option. Loyalty is mutual self interest through and implied unwritten contract - aka, ones word.

Lots of it.

Meanwhile the people that bust their asses the hardest continue to barely get by.

You seem to think a lot like the Rothchilds/Rockerfellers, and other self styled elitists.

You've got the sociopathic 'let them eat cake' mentality.
You've got plenty of wealth,so when others struggle daily it's not your problem right?

Yeah how did that kind of mindset work out for the elitist class in evolutionary France?

We'll have the same result here eventually if the elitists continue ton gut the poor and middle class, while reaping increasingly obscene profits for themselves.

Get over your God complex fellas.
You're NOTHING without the working class, that keeps your businesses running.
