Japan has a very good work ethic, it is inspired by the samurai philosophy. Essentially samurais would devote their lives to their master in exchange for new equipment and necessities, I.E.: new sword, new armor, new horse etc.

I aim to provide my employer with similar diligence, although I wouldn't go as far as to commit seppuku... At the end of the day, if you are with a company for 10, 20, or 30+ years, your employer will have paid for all the food, bills, mortgage/rent in your entire life. Loyalty is the least you can give in exchange.

The only discrepancy would be if you work for a Harvey Weinstein or are an exploited slave. Barring that kind of situation, OP is right, you owe the person who hired you.

Re: You owe the person who hired you, loyalty.
What if the person that hired you, you find out later on, is totally corrupt? Should you continue to be loyal to them? What if they hired you only because you fit a certain 'profile' -- say, you appeared to them to be a people-pleaser or a subservient individual and they thought they would be able to push you around to suit their needs, when in reality you were just someone who really needed the job and ended up being even more capable than them? What if the boss of your boss notices this and sacks his ass? Are you a terrible individual for that, or you was your promotion justified?

Anyways. Organizations are made of people. Individuals dictate the way the organization is run, not the other way around. If the leaders are bad leaders, the organization is going to implode, sooner or later. Your boss is not your owner, and if your boss sucks and you know it and follow along with it, guess what? One day, when shit hits the fan and they're found out, you're probably going to be the one to take the blame: the little guy. Now, if on the contrary, your boss is actually a great leader who pushes you forward and nurtures your own capabilities and creativity in the right way, then heck yes, loyalty, and more importantly, RESPECT, has been well-earned.

So no, being a blind lackey to some top dog is not, in any way, the correct way to 'climb up the ladder'. Doing the best job you can do, according to your duties and capabilities, is the way to do it, IMHO.

This thread explains why the majority of people never really excel in life and instead accept a life of servitude .

OP is incorrect. Companies changed people into a resource, like raw materials. They add them and subtract them. I’ve seen this change over decades. As a marketing professional I have learned that you are your own brand. It is your job to make yourself more valuable to the market place.

Like it or not, you do not owe your company anything AND they do not owe you anything other than the compensation they gave you for yesterday’s work.

I was a senior manager for the largest tire company in the world and this exact subject was discussed. It was a radical departure from the companies past history. It was brought on when the company when public and everything becaome about the numbers.

I don’t like it but it is the way today’s world is.

Better to know you are a resource then to assume otherwise - better to be humble than to be humbled - better to be loyal than to incur the wrath of those that have had your back since day one. Better to live a happy life than go constantly be looking over your shoulder.

Dogma and flattery and ego are the mortal enemies of a true warrior. Ignore the bullshit and get in where you fit in - even if it takes decades - if you love what you do, do it with zeal and for free as long as necessary to prove your skill. How long does a samurai sword take to make? How long does it take to train a sushi chef? What is the measure of a man - or will he always be an animal? Earning your place in the world is not as easy as begging or the snap of fingers... respect is earned.

I see where you are coming from, and it probably deserves a thread all on its own: the dysfunctional workplace. I've seen a lot of companies where the upper management does not cooperate and instead undermines one another to the point of getting perceived "competition" eliminated.

These individuals I have noticed usually do not even meet the criteria of their positions. It creates a toxic work environment, it is a mental disorder. The elite teach us that the world is dog eat dog, meanwhile on their level they apply cooperation vs competition. Cooperation and harmony will always out compete the crabs in a bucket mentality the general public applies........

Lol even more delusional..
Right because people have huge medical bills and student debt just because they are greedy.

I guess their college debt being roughly equal to an entire years salary of a high paying middle class job,has nothing to do with that eh?

Oh and of course those of us that can't shell out $100,000 for a week in the hospital, just didn't save enough money before right?

Heck even dying and getting put in the ground will probably cost me over $15,000,if I die within the next few years.

Yeah people are just in debt because they don't save enough. It's not like maybe the globalists have turned pretty much everything from education,to medical/pharma,to dying,to even the freaking financial system itself into a giant ponzi scheme designed to benefit only them and impoverish everyone else right?

I am sort of talking in hypotheticals. Japanese work themselves to death. I would not recommend that lifestyle. In the old day one person (the man) working per household could pay for everything. Now with both people working its barely enough to get by. They promised us with the innovation of technology that eventually everyone would have more free time.. Did they make good on their promise?? I don't think so.....

I got your reality hanging. I've been self-employed most of my life.
I proudly sign my name to my work.
I do it to glorify God, not ANY man.
The reward for a job well done is the opportunity to do more.
I'll tell you, just like I told this pompous Jewish asshole:

There's an older saying, "God is in the details."
Take care of the pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves.

Tell you a little story Lunchmeat.
My mother raised me as a Christian, to treat everyone the same.
Regardless of color or creed, we're all Americans.
She was born in '29, raised in the Depression.
They still believed in Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
Little did they know they had been sold out the decade before. In reality, the century before.
She had Jewish neighbors, black neighbors, but they were ALL Americans.
She was 3/4 German, 1/4 British.
Israel, in those days, were a people, God's people, all created equal.
Still are, and when you say differently, you're a liar before the Lord.

Doesn't matter which book or flag you're waving.
All are on loan from God, no if, and, or buts. PERIOD.

In the American POW camps, when they came for the Jews,
Everyfuckingbody stood up, saying "right here we are."
When you say differently, you spit on their graves.

When this President says he's an American first, he means it.
Anyone who feels differently needs to GTFO. It's bleed or blister time, mark my words.
You're a disgrace, we don't need you, don't want you.

And may God bless us all, for we've inherited a mess.

Work=money for upper management you mean.
Lots of it.

Meanwhile the people that bust their asses the hardest continue to barely get by.

You seem to think a lot like the Rothchilds/Rockerfellers, and other self styled elitists.

You've got the sociopathic 'let them eat cake' mentality.
You've got plenty of wealth,so when others struggle daily it's not your problem right?

Yeah how did that kind of mindset work out for the elitist class in evolutionary France?

We'll have the same result here eventually if the elitists continue ton gut the poor and middle class, while reaping increasingly obscene profits for themselves.

Get over your God complex fellas.
You're NOTHING without the working class, that keeps your businesses running.

Once you learn the art of winning, the situation can change but not the formula for success. Greed is your enemy...lose greed and wealth will follow you

If you have debt, then you are greedy and want what you can't afford.

1:Delusion...
So if thats true why are the richest elites in the world the greediest of them all?

And whats greedy about my desires exactly?
God forbid I actually want to live my life.Rather then giving all my lifes precious effort and time to a bunch of sociopaths narcissistic CEO's/Upper management and government officials.

The 'hard work equals success and wealth' propaganda talking point from the neo con right wingers,is very tired and old at this point.

No being a sociopath that doesn't mind stepping on everyone else to get what you want, equals wealth and success.

Being a moral-less scammer that uses Ponzi schemes like the Federal Reserve;to create as much wealth as they like for yourself out of thin air, equals wealth and success.

The blatant lie that 'Rich=Go getter' just needs to die already.People are tired of sacrificing their lives and health for these upper class parasites that demand everything from us,yet don't want to lift a finger themselves.

They are nothing more then modern Pharisee's

"If you have debt, then you are greedy and want what you can't afford."

So did you pay off you house with Cash Brief?
If so then you've got far more dispensable income then the average American, thus you are horribly out of touch with our daily reality.

But if you haven't paid it off, guess what buddy?
YOU'RE IN DEBT TOO ;)

Oh and don't forget that even if you have paid off that house,it will always really belong to daddy government.
Don't pay your high property taxes one year, and see how long you get to hold onto it.

You are very confused, but let's go point by point.

Most rich people did not chase money, they chased dreams. Money follows if you have the right formula. You must change your perspective. Right now you seem to be jealous. Lose jealousy and greed, then do something for the world and people will buy it.

Um, actually yes!

With the help of hired electricians, of which I had a few think I was nuts and left pissed off, lol but I did invent a switch that allows a modified sinewave inverter to be wired to a generator backup switch, that is hardwired into the breaker box of my home. It allows me to control solar and grid power without interrupting the power flow to the house, garage, and guest house.
