If your planning an exit, theres an exit tax. Its real, and truly way worse Yes, small businesses get screwed big time. You need to incorporate as a Scorp and pass profits off as dividends. Its taxed lower. And the shareholders pay a good chunk of the tax burden out of the dividend for the company.

oh and just to be clear, I filed qualified widower, but using new tax rates for single with my withholding, I got back 2800 this year, and next year it will be about that, but after that I would even out, my withholding did fine, last year I paid a lot less than I would have, irs sucks but the Trump cuts did work the way they were supposed too, not my fault people are stupid about how the tax works with withholding...

Perhaps you should think about how instead of being resentful with your fortune, you should feel gratitude for your wealth and happiness. Perhaps instead of directing your misplaced animosity on those less fortunate, you could try to better understanding the situation.

I *do* pay taxes. My refund is a smithering percentage of what I pay in, and I only get the refund because I have extra withheld on my paycheck each week so I don't end up owing a huge amount. This is a technique you might look into yourself.

I also pay taxes every time I fill my gas tank, buy groceries, license my car every year, and go out to eat. In fact, I pay *more* taxes when I go out to eat because people in my county received a 1% restaurant tax to pay for a new stadium for the Colts to play football in. Sounds fair to me, I pay for a facility I'm never going to use to allow a bunch of multi-millionaires to throw around a football.

Besides, by my very simple calculations, you made over $33 million last year if you owe that much in taxes. So while you are correct that you are paying more in taxes than what I make, your net income for 2018 alone is more than my entire family will earn in their entire lives.

So go pay your taxes and kindly fuck off.

I know my OP was full of animosity but I don’t feel that way deep down. You know you have to be pretty bold and wild to get a thread going on GLP. I help those less fortunate at any opportunity and am incredibly blessed to have what I do.

At the same time, wealth has not brought happiness. Instead of thinking of my rent bill, I’m thinking of how I can continue to grow this company, create more companies and create amazing jobs. That’s my calling here on earth, to create not only jobs but wealth for those around me. I’ve created 3 millionaires from nothing but raw potential and I’m very proud of that.

I just think that we should have a flat tax. No more deductions, loopholes and refund checks. We all pay equally into the system.
