I hear advertisements for the Christian Healthcare, Medishare. Perhaps you can look into that.
 Quoting: Ashford

Will do. Thank you
 Quoting: 1-2-Follow

There are a lot of Medishare type organizations out there. Bigger is better in this case. Research them and know what you are looking at before you sign up. Some of them are great, others only cover the little stuff.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

A single person, yeah, don't need it but nothing wrong with having it.

If you have a family with a kid, keep something. One car accident could put everyone in the hospital at the same time for a long time, and your car insurance probably won't even dent the bills accumulating with injury coverage. Or worse you get hit by one of our brown uninsured invaders.

Physician heal myself and paid as I went for the few outside things i needed. Like twice? Once was an abusive ripoff like they do you.

The only other choice is LOW premium/high deductible because young people never use it, you will be keeping more money even if you end up spending 2 grand of it sometime? Most things are office calls and are 100-150 bucks with scrip.....not 2,000 and er.

Self care is the ticket.

Doctors became a business model and for profit awhile ago, you are a customer and they want you to keep coming back.

Medical malfeasance is the #3 cause of death in the US.
Why would you want to go to a doctor?

Many of these MDs were never doctor material, either, and got their license due to the race card.

Plus, they will bankrupt you in no time at all... take everything you have worked for.

The medical business industry is the biggest scam ever played on the American people. Wise up and don't become a victim!

Re: GLP: Need your input! Who here doesn't have health insurance?
We stopped carrying traditional health insurance when it exceeded our house payment. Cash pay for us is almost exactly the same out of pocket as it was with insurance. . . only without the big premium payments. We ended up getting a cheap indemnity plan that does qualify as Obamacare. It ended up costing about the same as the penalty so we figured might as well. We mostly use holistic wellness methods for stuff anyway. I replaced all my prescriptions with herbal remedies. I’m curious to see how this thing where hospitals are required to start posting prices online is going to work. I haven’t looked into it at all yet, but that should do a lot to bring in free market competition and hopefully drive prices down.

I don’t have insurance.

I went to some clinic for COPD shit. Three times. They try to offer me free visits if I have low income. I tell them I’m not interested ... pay a hundred to a hundred fifty a visit ... get prescriptions and they give me the treatment I need.

Works for me.

How much is it for your prescriptions?

Walmart is great working with people. Without insurance they charge less ... and help with coupons.

Symbicort is normally 366 per inhaler. Go to their website and sign up ... it’s free for 12 months.

Albuterol liquid is like 30 vials for 6 bucks.

Prednisone was 5 bucks - I got 30 pills.

An antibiotic was 6 bucks.

Eye exams...you don't need a complete exam every year. Ask what they'd charge for a 'pressure check' and check for eye disease. Might save you 50%.

Prescriptions...always ask about alternative drugs. I had the guy tear up the $100 prescription and write it for amoxlycilin. Less than $10 I think.

I found an Urgent Care that accepted a doctors copay of $25 even though my card said: copay $50 for Urgent Care.

Re: GLP: Need your input! Who here doesn't have health insurance?
My daughter-in-law was in a bad auto accident this morning, 60mph hit and spun into the concrete divider on the highway. Luckily, she's pretty much okay.

Her insurance isn't very good, though its insurance from the state. She was taken via ambulance with the guy who hit her to the emergency room.

We're so very lucky and we all know it. But this is why we have insurance. The person who caused the accident to happen never stopped. It's considered a hit and run.

My personal insurance is a Health Share plan. They do want you to be in decent shape... or to get in decent shape. So not everyone qualifies. But when a young trainer was hurt on my ranch, her own christian healthshare
paid ALL her bills after the deductible.

I highly recommend them for individuals who care enough to keep themselves healthy.

Haven't had insurance on our family for years. Our company's insurance is more per month than our mortgage and the deductibles are insane.

Re: GLP: Need your input! Who here doesn't have health insurance?
so our work insurance it's being ripped off again this year and is going up anywhere from 30% (spouse/child/etc) to 51% (individual) and it's qualchoice, which is some bottom of the barrel insurance at that. (family plan is now $836/month!)

I switched to an HSA ($2000 deductible) to put back my own money and save on the monthly premium 2 years ago, and even its monthly premium has gone up over 50% the last 2 years and is going up another 21% this year.

I can't comprehend supporting any company that has those kinds of price increases on a yearly basis, and insurance is no different, but they sell it to you as if you MUST have it or they will let you die in a hospital bed.

i'm seriously thinking about cancelling this shit since the individual mandate has been removed.

has any one here been without insurance for a length of time? what do you do if something bad happens? I am generally very healthy, but as we all know, no one knows what tomorrow brings.

is it worth it to keep paying in to a corrupt systems? or try to pull out and let the insurance companies crash and burn and maybe we can start over. any other company would be forced to lower prices or lose customers. why are they immune to it?

My insurance has about tripled in price since the Obamacare mandates because they took my catastrophic plan and added all kinds of mandated shit to it. The premiums just on myself are over $500 per month and keep rising.

Good Lord! This is definitely outright theft!

I'd quit and pay a doctor or naturopath directly if I had to. Learn a bit about health to keep healthy and treat yourself at home as a first line of defence. Most doctors only prescribe drugs which you are better off without, and know nothing about preventative measures or wholistic cures/treatments.

I went without medical insurance for close to 20 years, even opting out of employer coverage so I would get the extra $250 in my paycheck (cafeteria plan, this was before Obamacare). I never get sick enough to need a doctor with all the home remedies i find online. I have coverage now but when I get sick I use Google as my doctor. Only went to doctor a couple times for routine physicals because the plan required visit to PCP once a year, I changed plans after that to avoid the requirement.

I haven't had health insurance in 12 years.

My hand is broken now, I set it and made a splint with my awesome medical prep that you doom-tards convinced me to invest in.

But seriously, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of remediation.

That said, I'm 34 and in great physical shape with no kids.

When I was you age, I was the same way. But, as you age, and have a family, you need insurance. I didn't have insurance back when I was involved in all sorts of high risk activities. I guess I was lucky and never was injured while street racing or dirt biking. I think of some of the dangerous things I did, and it makes me cringe. I drove a very large four wheel drive truck off a cliff, and was not hurt. It must have been the beer that protected me.

In my honest opinion. You have done right by yourself. Health insurance is stupid and costs are ridiculous. People go running to the doctor for most frivolous things . The healthcare act prohibits hospitals from refusing treatment for anyone who walks in through those doors.

Unless it is a life threatening cause. There is really no reason to have to see a doctor for the prices they charge.

There was a whole PDF here of essentially field medicine in the event of a catastrophe. You can buy most things on the internet today. Stock up on antibiotics and the rest can be dealt with with the proper knowledge.
