Sorry you guys can’t find good music other than what they try to feed you. If you step outside the box and start listening to some bluegrass/jamgrass your band would have won a Grammy tonight. If rock is dead then you killed it because you let them tell you what to listen to.

You'd think the Grammys of the 70s would have been performances by Led Zep, Deep Purple, Sabbath, Skynyrd, etc.

But nope. It was stuff like the Carpenters, Captain and Tennille, Tony Orlando and Dawn, etc.

There's always been a gap between what people actually like, and what the industry would have you think.

You bothered to watch it? Didn't they once give a heavy metal award to Jethro Tull? Only metal band I know of to feature a flute solo.

Pop music and top 40 etc. are pretty much garbage. Anyone you see on the Grammys is probably someone you should actively avoid listening to.

Meanwhile, today, I spent some time listening to an artist who has been on tv but will never be huge on the charts or radio. And the music made me happy. People who make music just because they have to make me happy.

That would be foolish. Those are real musicians. Classically trained. The discipline required improves study habits, grades, math comprehension. Some of those actually go on to play in professional orchestras and teach. Some of them become performing artists, the kind that still do make real music.
