Getting back to decent, normal values, with enough of us left to teach the younger ones how to do it. Learning to survive without a piece of electronics constantly in the hand, but instead perhaps a shovel, or a pen, or a plow or a seed or blueprints. this is about War, and Survival through it all. Yes. And is about the war "booty" too LOL Whoever wins it gets the booty/treasure |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76677375 In practice, the test will mean that the data that passes between Russian citizens and organizations will remain within Russia, but not be diverted to the rest of the world. Is that a bad thing for a country to do? Shouldn't we in the USA do the same to protect in-country communications of our own, particularly private ones of our military and government? I don't think it means the worldwide web is to be out of access for Russians permanently; it's about protecting themselves from attack and stopping outsiders from cutting them off and the obvious: eavesdropping on them. So why are we all hearing about what Russians are planning to do? lol I guess the test isn't ready yet.:) I saw the article and wanted to share with you all. have no idea on the what, who or why. just my own opinion. |

China and Russia are buddies now, when it suits them to be, so likely everything China learns about us goes also to the Russians. Prayer is the most powerful force on earth. “I care not for a man's religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.” Abraham Lincoln I sign all karma given. Anonymous Coward User ID: 58790082 United States 02/11/2019 10:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They're going to discover the economy isn't going to function really well without the internet. People don't understand why Russia is doing it. It's because Russia has been invaded all the time and targeting the infrastructure is the first thing that will happen. It's going to be interesting to see what happens. Hardened communication is going to be necessary to keep businesses flowing, even for tiny businesses and everyone else. PO's, sales, a lot of it is dependent on the internet and emails. I know most businesses can still function with slowed down internet to 1.5mbit (T1) speeds, but any slower becomes useless for any company with more than 50 employees. Meanwhile, our communication has nothing hardened or have any redundancy systems in place. The government already allowed AT&T off the hook from upkeeping their nuclear proof bunkers and the whole 48 hour battery limit isn't required anymore. Now it's all about the cheapest bidder. Same goes for our power grid, which used to have redundancy built in. |

Just like a clunky broken down Stalin era pickup trcuk sloshing around lake Ladoga, trying to get across. Watching them flop around is funny. And they always have to shine the spotlight outward at the USA because shining it inside their own lands would be gazing inside an abscessed wound. |
