The details are slowly trickling out -- but here's what we hear has been agreed to:

$1.375 billion for physical barriers (bollard fencing)
40,520 level for overall ICE beds (down from current 49,057 level)
Previously I’m with Trump.
I will not comply

I would take the money and then immediately declare a national emergency.

While the lawsuits over the national emergency go through the courts, he can use the 1.3 to start the new wall.

That will only cover 55 miles of new fencing apparently.

I’d say there’s a snowballs chance in hell that this get signed.

If he does sign it, look out for one of two things in this order:

1.Using an executive order to draw funds from other areas to continue building walls.

2.accepting what he can get and declaring a national emergency (which believe it or not is actually MORE likely after this deal)

Just hope it stays open the rest of my life. I’m tired of this shutdown crap. From a small town USDA. employee of 25 yrs. and a trump voter and supporter. Not to rain on everyone’s parade but. Shutdown doesn’t help the president like a lot of you think. As one person told me during the last one. No one really wins. But only the President gets blamed nationwide. Because if you think about it a bit. Only the president can be voted for by everyone effected by a shutdown. No matter who’s to blame for it. I’m in Virginia. I can’t vote for Pelosi here. Can you ? Remember that a shutdown hurts a lot of people just working for a pay check like everyone else. We’re not robots or assholes. we’re you different job same shit to put up with.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75392169

If you're tired of it, then find another job. Govt is too bloated and inefficient and needs to be downsized immediately. Huge sections of govt need to be permanently canceled. If Trump can successfully cut off the fat and turn the federal govt into a lean, efficient, and UNDER-BUDGET machine like it's supposed to be, yes he'll get the "blame" and that "blame" would be a great honor and feather in his cap.
 Quoting: Weyoun

About 3 years ago, the USDA didn't have any idea how many employees they actually had.

Government is undeniably bloated.

As a poor person, less than 24k per year for a married couple, the freaking shutdown wasn't felt a bit in our home.

We will not take any of the socialist funding. Screw that.

Shut the damn thing down again. Declare a new Emergency and kick the socialists in the teeth.
 Quoting: Fluffy Pancakes

I think you miss the point I’m trying to make. As this crap goes on it starts to harm more and more people. The national park situation was starting to affect hours for restaurant and hotel workers near the Great Smoky Mountains. The only thing that slowed it was time of year not the volunteers trying to keep think working.

They are only cry babies if they cry like you are doing. I've been laid off many times and never blamed others nor whined like a baby. I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and moved on and survived. Downsizing and layoffs are part of normal life and if I were manager I would've done the same layoff if I had to. By the way, work 25 years straight for a single employer in the private sector is practically unheard of nowadays. No private sector person relates with you. You have been insulated in your govt world for too long and it has distorted your perception what regular Americans think and feel.

Shutdown needs to be PERMANENT! Non-essential employees don't exist in the private sector because they would've been laid off long ago and should much less exist in govt with such great potential for national waste, tyranny and corruption.

Dont know how accurate this is:

The final figure for the wall is sure to come in below $2 billion, far below the $5.7 billion Trump has demanded. Democrats have agreed to at least some money for border structures despite taking a hard line against it during the recently ended 35-day partial shutdown.

Less than 50%

No. Not threat of gunpoint. When I took this job at lower pay it was for the benifiits. The insurance at that time. In 95. Now I’m so far invested I can’t see why I would leave. If this Gov wants to fix the border they would have done it in the past 100 years. Don’t put it all on one generation to do it all now.

I think you miss the point I’m trying to make. As this crap goes on it starts to harm more and more people. The national park situation was starting to affect hours for restaurant and hotel workers near the Great Smoky Mountains. The only thing that slowed it was time of year not the volunteers trying to keep think working.

Also. To set this straight one time. If you leave a Federal Gov. job. While you are furloughed. you could lose your retirement.and 401k Match if you do anything considered conflict of interest. So not an option. OK. Couldn’t even take a temporary job because of being considered exempted. And had to work without pay.

That's how it is with any private sector job, except worse because private sector people don't have congress gauranteeing them back pay. Yet, people in the private sector change careers all the time, either voluntarily or being layed off, and survive. The vast majority of Americans are private sector and when they hear govt workers whine about their gauranteed incomes funded by American taxpayers by threat of gunpoint, it only alienates you more.

People are paying taxes at gunpoint. You think IRS agents aren't armed? Stop being selfish and think outside your govt bubble for once.
