Of course you could. Pensions get killed all the time. Tons of private sector people loose pensions all the time. That's why you save your own monies or prep like real world people do. It is personal for you but also for hundreds of millions who suffer because of big govt. World is a tough place and you've been protected by your govt job for 25 year, at the expense of other people who have to pay your salary at gunpoint.

By the way, I know a govt careerist worker who lost all his retirement because he outed a corrupt supervisor and they retaliated against him. He's lucky he didn't get suicided. Big govt truly is like a mafia.
