Congressional negotiators revealed Monday evening that they've reached "an agreement in principle" on border security funding and other issues that could avert a second partial government shutdown this year.

When asked if they had an agreement that President Trump would approve, Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, told reporters: "I think so."

I’d like to see trump agree to a deal with as much funding as the Dems will give. Then turn straight around and declare national emergency to get the rest.

It’s a win win.
He shows he cares about American workers but also holds true to his word about getting the wall.

I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this before.

The funding won’t change the immediate situation at the border.
He would still stand on solid grounds for declaration even if they gave him the 5.7b.

None of them have gotten anything do except for turmoil for the last decade.

Worse thing they can do is let Trump use Wall funding as 2020 main issue. They will lose that fight. Letting him have the full Wall might actually help them in 2020.
