Lol. I remember going to an aircraft museum outside of Seattle that had an Apollo module or spacecraft on display. It looked like it was made out of tin foil and duct tape. I couldn't believe my eyes. It truly was impossible to believe it was as a space craft, and it was especially hard to believe that anyone could be gullible enough to think it was a functional craft of any kind.

Saw in person as a child. I was in complete disbelief even then.

sure...but the relative speed between the two vehicles was down to inches per second at docking...(hell, then they did the T&D after TLI, they were doing 23,000mph...but again, the relative speeds between CSM and LM/S4B was quite small...)

What things might "look like" and what they actually are is not necessarily the same.

The pressure hull is covered with plates and foils to regulate temperature and to act as Whipple micrometeorite shielding.
It's all on standoffs, away from the hull, to minimise conduction paths for the heat, and to maximise the Whipple effect.
