Have a 2D cutter and it can be 3D with extra work. The 3d printers seems kind of hokey with blobbing melted shit on top of other melted shit. Not very precise. A 2d CNC can produce better and stronger but in layers.

Printer are pretty cheap now...less than $500....I currently cast brass, bronze, Zamak, aluminum, and pewter...I use deft clay or investment casting...mostly making parts for old and antique machinery/mechanisms...

By storing the codes, I can have a library of parts I can make with repeatability....

Most of the parts I make are 3D, small enough to fit in a hand, and it doesn hve to be precise beacause I have to hand fit the parts by filing anyway....
