I was born in 1969 and the 70's from what I remember was pretty good.
People were nice and friendly, Christmastime was magical and everyone was even nicer, strangers would stop and help on the side of the road - it was great growing up then.
You could see that society was changing though, even back then. The rise of satanic music, increased violence and gratuitous nudity in movies, drugs becoming more acceptable, etc etc. It all was stepping stones to where we are today and today's trash is stepping stones for a more evil and repugnant world tomorrow.

Yes, I'd take the 70's over today in a heartbeat.
