Fresno neighbors fed up with homeless camp at high-speed rail site

Over the last couple months, dozens of homeless people have moved onto the property. Police presence isn’t unusual. There’s been reports of shootings and stabbings.

“It’s scary,” Hillman said. “I feel like our safety is endangered. (There’s) a lot of loose dogs, people doing things we’re just not sure about. The needles, the health and safety of it. It’s tragic.”

Yeah she said, "it's so tragic we need to move these people somewhere else, like Modesto." Random neighbor says.

can't believe Gavin didn't give the route's homeless population diamond credit cards, gold-plated bathrooms including jacuzzis, and a 5-star eatery w/free needles for dessert.

One thing Cali did some 6 years ago was let out a BUNCH of criminals out of the state prison system that were in for things such as the "Three Strikes You're Out" law. A lot of lifers were set loose in places like Fresno. These institutionalized people cannot function outside of jail so they kind of bunch up in places where they hope the cops won't pester them.

Fresno is one of those shitty crossroads where vagrants, criminals, and drug runners tend to meet up.

Complaining to the city won't get the neighbors anywhere, but posting it on youtube and online, showing the world what these abandoned high speed rail sites are hosting, may be a more expedient way to shine a spot light on the issue.

Nobody will employ them, even if they're done committing crimes, their records haunt them forever.


Only judges should have access to your criminal history, but that isn't the case unfortunately.

This problem causes mass amounts of homeless and criminal activity, if nobody will hire you, you have to stay alive some how, if you don't have a source of income you are either forced to panhandle or the more aggressive approach.

The system doesn't work, needs a complete rebuild.

Seen video of that one. Its underneath the overpass and looked pretty nasty. People get a bad mind set in such and make it worse too. I don't blame the residents, they need to move that out of eyesore and I would bomb em until they did. They think being on the ground makes them the dominant ape and get to acting like it......it does not. You can't ask nice either.
