Were the World Wars a ritual sacrifice?

Guess you could argue most, if not all wars are in actuality a ritual sacrifice.
For Example:
What if TPTB set up such events like D-day during WWII purposely to cause mass casualties? Knowing full well what the outcome and body count would be.

You could also argue that such major wars are also population control on a massive scale.
2 birds with 1 stone eh?

A Rothschild once said,
"If my sons did not want wars, there would be none."

So,
why exactly do they want war?
