Guy who fought off and killed mountain lion speaks out

Hearing his upspeak I kind of wish that the cat would have won.

Okay, it wasn't actually a mountain lion, as in 'cougar' It was a bobcat or lynx most likely. No way can a stripling like this guy step on the neck of a cougar and suffocate it. They weigh if male 117 to 220 lbs. Females can weigh up to 150 lbs.

Hand would have been severed by the bite of a cougar across the wrist.

So, jogging in the mountains out west, golly gee. Pack.

He said he stepped on the neck. If it was a big cat, no way could he do that. Every state has their definition of mountain lion. But he did survive, so props to him.

I have had small bobcats, coyotes and mountain lions walk right past me while deer hunting. They were on the trail of deer, and were sniffing away with there nose in the air. So I can speak with some kind of experience. Might I ask where you experience comes from?

Coyotes are the size of medium dog, probably put up a good fight. small bobcats are slightly bigger then a domesticated cat, and very graceful. Mountain lions are as in the picture. and will eff someone up, especially if no weapon.

Either he encountered a young mountain lion. Or Colorado calls bobcats, mountain lions.
( bobcats with small tail or long tail, mixed breed with lynx,I have seen them with both). Most likely he stepped on a bobcat and lived to fight another day.

And no a “ small cat” or bobcat cannot rip someone to shreds, unless they lay on the ground with open arms. Obviously he did not do this. So he did have some intelligence. Always carry some kind of weapon with you in the woods. Now he learned and has more intelligence. Never give mentality, atleast he had it, saved his ass.

Ok, I got all the facts, that he has no business being in that wildlife prone area, w/o some defense systems (knife, pepper spay, etc) and he has been inspired to not having earbuds, listening Celline Demon, but the thing that's irking me, it's: why the wildlife law enforcement didn't take his word for granted (his face and legs were badly scratched and profusely bleeding supposedly, when reach to hospital), but then take him and put to pass trough the ordeal of remembering all what's happening and going on those tracks giving explanations how all has happened etc.

Obviously, he has been badly injured, and probably psychologically traumatized, why was necessary this?

In US even the wild life has more rights than the people? I mean, the white people? If the guy would have been a person of color (we all know they don't get outside their getto's, but supposedly they do) or a mexican, I assume they would not bothered him and make waste his time for that!

They should take his declaration, a copy after the hospital admission with description of the wounds and basta. I personally would told those rangers to go f..ck themselves I would not waste my time for them. Really you people have the most fcked p system in the world!

I went once alone... Had a solid 6" knife but I'm not gonna lie, that doesn't feel like enough when you're alone.

Good for this guy for living that could have been a lot worse.
