This is extremely rare and highly unusual. This has only occurred one other time. There is an ongoing prolonged disturbance in the frequency of the Earth, called the Schumann Resonance, spiking as high as 67 Hz so far.

The Schumann Resonance measures the low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth's electromagnetic field. Schumann resonances are global electromagnetic resonances, generated and excited by lightning discharges in the cavity formed by the Earth's surface and the ionosphere. The planet has a normal steady frequency of 7.83 Hz.

On January 31st, 2017, for the first time in recorded history, the Schumann Resonance spiked to frequencies of 36+ Hz. It was considered an anomaly when in 2014 this frequency rose from its usual 7.83 Hz to somewhere in the 15-25 Hz levels—so a jump from 7.83 Hz to 36+ Hz is a big deal. That’s more than a five-fold increase in resonant frequency levels. On April 24, 2017 it set another record spike of 60 Hz. It has since then been regularly spiking into these ranges and higher.
