The study apparently says it's better economically and in "maternal bonding", however that's measured, for everyone else except, of course, the one murdered.

More like saying that if your neighbor and you don't get along, he'll be better off if he can kill you. Whichever is the survivor will be better off than he would have been if both had lived.

Also, if someone else buys his house after you killed him, and that person gets along with you, the new neighbor is probably happier than the old one would have been if he had lived. After all, the new guy gets along with his neighbor, you!
