The DeBeers lab created diamonds are reported to be identical to mined cut diamonds EXCEPT that DeBeers is putting it's symbol on a hidden part of the stone so that jewelers and appraisers will realize that it is lab created.

Personally since the DeBeers GROWN stones have all the same properties as real diamonds, including brilliance color etc. I would never again buy a REAL stone. Obviously DeBeers believes the REAL stone business is on it's last legs now that gemstone quality stones can be MANUFACTURERED so they are going into the gemstone "manufacturing" business since their original business is about to disappear.

fwiw other diamond "manufacturers" are not all marking their stones as "manufactured" unlike DeBeers ... so even if you THINK you are buying a REAL mined diamond the reality is that you MAY be buying a "manufactured" one since jewelers and appraisers can not tell the difference.

there is a real lab create diamond. the common brand name is used. (it's commonly called Moissanite)

the Cubic Zirconia is a different stone, it's hardness is only 8 and it has more dispersion than a diamond.
i think cubic zirconia is a nicer stone. it's about
$30 per carat.

gemsstones are now faceted by robot machine, which by rights
should make cut gemstone a lot cheaper.
