The dollar is strong because the Federal Reserve claimed it was going to raise rates from 0% over the past 8 years. It stopped at 2.5% and basically admitted it can't go any higher without causing a recession (although I believe were already in one). Next, they eliminate reverse operation twist (e.g. getting rid of the Federal Reserve's balance sheet which is never going to happen) then back down 0%. Then, the dollar will fall and the rest of the world will reject our inflation. Another strategy is to invest overseas. But, the dollar won't be strong for long. The Federal Reserve admitted it can't raise rates from 2.5% and is about to cancel rolling off it's balance sheet. That means debt creation to the entire world until they reject the dollar. It's going to fall...like a rock hitting water. |

I can store $10,000 in fiat in a drawer for 5 years, and when I spend, it has the purchase power of, say, $8000. I can store $10,000 in gold in that same drawer, and when I trade for fiat, I may get $13,000. I am out though. I just can't see "owning" something that will take days to get custody of. |

The government regulated that part of it's business in the United States (they are actually blaming it on the actual debit card provider and saying it will be resolved), but you can take physical delivery of your gold or you can transfer it via a wire transfer. It use to be 100% liquid in gold. Now, its a gold vault until the regulations are resolved. |
