The problem is it wasn't caught on camera, so hopefully, there are some witnesses. There's probably a federal civil rights violation here, too. Texas lets you shoot to protect property. Most other states don't. BUT All (?) states recognize: Lethal force is justifiable only "to protect life from imminent threat or to protect from "grave"(crippling) bodily injury." Anything else is not self defense. The threat must be imminent. If you shoot at an intruder; he runs down the street and you chase him and shoot again.He can claim self defense from you.( It's a whole seperate incident).  |
