We have a strong conservative Governor Abbott, and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, affectionately known as "Lieutenant Dan". He was a big supporter of animal rights, so he would have warmed the hearts of a lot of "progressives" in Austin.

He also favored a meatless diet because he disliked humans thinking of animals as food. That would have pinged a lot of the joy buzzards of liberal trendy-veganists throughout Austin.

"Socialist" was a part of the name of Hitler's political organization. That certainly would have made the "progressives" in Austin swoon with love.

He admired big-brother, cradle-to-grave government. Liberals in Austin would have said, "hey, where do I sign up?"

Hitler admired Islam for its brashness, but was cool towards Christianity. Secular liberals in Austin would have embraced him for his Muslims-need-our-love-and-support-too reaction.
