And,  that is not a compliment - high taxes,  expensive housing, aggressive drivers,  and frenetic bustle.

I want to leave.  And, I don't regret leaving the Austin of today.  I am nostalgic about leaving the Austin that I knew - Texas-friendly,  slow-paced,  and beautifully undeveloped.

Now, it is gone.  I know...everything changes.  But, for so many years, I saw Austin as a goal, a lifestyle destination.  It is difficult to reorient my perspective.
