No, only retarded people or people who know little to nothing about firearms refer to a magazine as a clip.

When someone uses that word when referring to a magazine you immediately know they have no knowledge of firearms.

Hoodrats and the like seem to use the term "clip" to describe a gun magazine.

This is correct. People who are casually familiar w/ firearms will use that term, 'clip', which instantly conveys their ignorance of proper terminology and function of most firearms.

Clips charge magazines. Yes, some old rifles use en bloc clips (Garand), and in that case, 'clip' is the right term.

Magazines, filled w/ ammo, insert into modern pistols/rifles.

Another one that irritates me is when people say 'bullets' in place of what should be called 'rounds', 'ammo', 'cartridge', or 'ammunition'. This is usually said when referring to loading said rounds into a magazine, and slmebody calling the entire cartridge a 'bullet'.

Only the actual projectile fired from the cartridge case, which is loaded w/ powder and containing a primer, is the 'bullet'.

But I digress. Jake, I like your threads/comments, and I think you're a pretty good guy - but I'm gonna disagree w/ your comments.

Whatever you want to call it, you're a free American, and you can call it whatever you wish.
