The 5GHz you see listed on routers is not the same 5G being proposed for hi-speed internet to mobile devices. It's merely a radio frequency band.

Most routers send internet signal over the 2.4Ghz frequency by default, 5GHz offers faster speed rates at a shorter coverage, whilst 2.4GHz offers coverage for farther distances but could run slower due to congestion on the band.
