But that was maybe 10 years ago; maybe O'care changed all that so doctors can't say no? I don't know, that's why I'm asking. Physicians now have an incredible amount of documentation required to be reimbursed for your visit along with complications of obtaining preauthorization for even simple antibiotics. My wife has a simple office of 1750 sf our rent is $3900 a month how many patients do we have to see to cover the rent. Obamacare was designed to force the big box doctor system imagine VA system for everyone. Get rid of your local small town doc. Now back to your question. Many physicians have and will continue to move to. A VIP system where in the average patients members pay $125 a month to be a member and that doctor will have a maximum of 500 patient base. The patients will have the doctor cell phone and the doctor will follow his patients. You could have the crappy insurance because the majority of the physicians revenue is not based on pushing all the right buttons but the revenue from his membership. |

He is spending too much time on low paying medicaid patients and is going broke, so he is going to make patients pay in order to weed out the medicaid caseload. Who the hell wants to get 7$ for an office call from medicaid ???? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73067859 if that is the case, then all prescription drugs should be legal to sell to anyone. this amounts to nothing but an extortion racket, people need antibiotics to live so play keep away. who does this?? seriously, why wouldn't people rebel and put in prison the people who would try to do this to them? |

Many good Dr's are moving away from hospitals and changing their private practices to a membership (monthly or yearly dues/fee) system. As I understand it this allows them not to be restricted by medicaid rules and lets them add things like holistic medicine to their practice. One office like this I visited had a yearly fee of $3K and included all Dr. visits + the Dr private phone and email so you could have direct contact for all your needs. When it came to tests and drugs, you were on your own however. Some test and drugs you could still get covered by Medicaid but you had to file for those yourself. Some of these Dr's will also set up deals with their preferred labs, pharmacies and hospitals for cash payments that are at very good discounts. For those who have decent health this actually works out to be cheaper than ACA insurance and the quality of care is way way better. Much Love, GOD Bless BoroBoro's |
