The first time the pre-tribulation was taught was the writings of a catholic Jesuit priest Emmanuel Lacunza published in 1811, 10 years after his death, then translated into English by Scottish minister Edward Irving then in 1827 John Nelson Darby and the Plymouth brethren then the Scofield reference bible.
