Like a major war perhaps? Quoting: AmericanSpyglass I think a major war is coming, but like most wars, it requires a lot of commodities and all those DoD contractors swarming in. It's actually a financial windfall for those investing in certain things. It brings in the players like a magnet. The whole thing is pretty sick, if you think about it. that's inflationary, gold should have popped. . Agreed, but I said that *I think* a major war is coming. Not here yet. They're not ready to tip their hand on how crazy things are going to get, but I'm a silvertard and would sure like to see that pop. I fell for Max Keiser's "Silver will be up to $500 an ounce in 2011!" Still waiting for that huge pop up, MAX. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74627261 It happens sometimes, but what I've seen is trade halted when things start to tumble down too fast, it's to prevent a crash......not exactly free market capitalism in its pure form, is it? This........I almost want to say either some big asshole was saved, or they claim it's a glitch while they do behind the scenes trading while everybody else who's a retail trader at home has to sit there with their thumbs up their asses waiting for things to come back online. Something seems off about this, because it's futures. Deciding what commodities or securities will be worth in the future. Apparently somebody was doing a lot of deciding and they didn't like the way it was going. That means....somebody knows something. Something big. Retail traders aren't in their special club, so.....they just have to sit there and let the big boys have their kill first. This is actually untrue. Retail traders are always filled first, by law and by process. A little old lady sitting at home trading on TD Ameritrade will ALWAYS get her order filled first, when prices are met etc. ALWAYS. It is actually a bone of contention for the big boys, pisses them off that their floor guys have to wait 6 miliseconds for all the retail orders to clear. Oh sure, if the little old lady can meet that ever elusive price, which the high speed computers are very good at flipping at the last second, then yeah. But I'm talking when the market shuts down for trading. You don't think back door trading is going on? I'm talking the people who have so much money they're running this game. |

Futures contracts for U.S. stock markets, Treasurys and commodities resumed trade on Tuesday evening stateside after being halted earlier due to a technical fault at CME Group. I don't see an update in any other sources headlines. probably a software update Ye,AI glitch could also be a switch to EMP proof trading circuitry, such as might be needed in case of a sizable war between unknown participants Like India / Pakistan for example ?
