How Bad Have Liberal Teachers Taken Over Higher Learning?
These are older numbers - but pretty telling.

Not surprising since prayer & the Bible were removed from schools just a generation earlier.
------------------------------------------

39% considered themselves liberal in a 1984 survey by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

72% By 1999, 15 years, nearly three-quarters of faculty members describe themselves as politically liberal, according to 1999 data from the North American Academic Study Survey (NAASS).

51% described the Bible as a "book of fables"

75% believe religion doesn't belong in public schools

***From "Politics and Professional Advancement Among College Faculty"
by Stanley Rothman, S. Robert Lichter, Neil Nevitte (2005)

"a survey of 1643 faculty members from 183 four-year colleges and universities"

This paper below is a rebuttal of the above paper / findings.

In this response, we show that Rothman, Lichter, and Nevitte's work is plagued by theoretical and methodological problems that render their conclusions unsustainable by the available evidence. Furthermore, we offer an alternative hypothesis theoretically consistent with their findings. Unfortunately, we were unable to subject our alternative hypothesis to empirical assessment (or even to replicate the initial results of Rothman, Lichter and Nevitte) since they have refused to make their data available to the scientific community.

The teachers are not becoming " liberal "
on there own. They are being coerced by
the teachers unions and possibly the
national education system.
If they don't play the game, they get
punished or fired.

It's odd how the percentage went from 39% to 72% in just 15 years.

Your comment reminds me of the blackballing of various scientists who don't buy into the "theoretical" facts of various disciplines.
