Example of how the Internet Lacks Empathy and How it Affects Us
The other day we had a thread about how people are getting worse. We talked about how the internet is fucking people up.

This is from a mostly comedy website. I am not sure how to embed it or if you can so it's just a link.

Now you might cruise through this haha site and see this and say to yourself... STUPID what an IDIOT and just move on to the next topic on the site without thinking about it.

But take a step back and think about this particular content and the way that it is portrayed for a second. This woman decided to not be treated with chemo and/or radiation against the advice of her doctors. She is vegan or went vegan. She also seemed to have strong faith in God.

So, maybe she was pretty naive about the whole situation. She ended up dying of the cancer and told a family member to take down the videos of her refusing treatment and trying to beat it naturally as she was dying. This was very noble of her because she realized that others would see those videos and it would encourage some of them to refuse any treatment and could also take the lives of others.

Now, take a look at the description of the video: "I implore you to probably not watch these as they are some of the most cringey videos on the internet."

What the fuck is "cringey" about it? The whole situation is tragic. I don't really see it as cringey at all. She suffered and is dead. And her family lost somebody that they loved. Probably, her whole reason for sharing her story is that she wanted to do the right thing and help others if it worked for her.

Now take a look at the picture they use for the header- a picture of a stairway to heaven as if to make fun of her death.

It also seems to make fun of her for being a vegan and having strong Christian beliefs. I'm not a vegan but so what? She thought that she could beat it without treatment and she died. There is always the possibility that she would have died with treatment. What is the big deal? Why is it okay to treat other people this way? Have a little fucking empathy.

Maybe I am wrong about her. I am not going to study all of her long videos to see if she was full of herself or something or to make sure she was decent. From what I have seen of her final days, she seemed like a damn good person who lost her life to fucking breast cancer. AND THAT IS SOMEHOW A JOKE!

Now look at the comment section and notice how disturbing they are. WTF? I think most the commenters who frequent the site are teens or immature young adults from what I have seen looking at Ebaums before.

But even if that's the case; these children are the FUTURE and this is how they think and act? It is really scary that this is like normal behavior for them.
