Re: BIG QUAKE - 7.0 mag. Peru.
Generally that area of South American has large quakes this time of year (Feb-April). Quakes 8 or above are the ones that tend to generate tsunamis. 9 and above are the wicked ones creating havoc with tsunamis in Hawaii.

Having been in two 7. quakes.. can easily say they're not fun as they also create a lot of local damage.
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.
Winston Churchill

Not to mention that it happened way away from the seacoast.

It might have rattled the Titicaca lake a bit, but not enough to even been noticed.

There was a rare oarfish caught off the coast of Peru a week ago that supposedly is a precursor or sign of an incoming quake.

You are wellcome, I felt it, awoke most people but as I have undergone many EQs on my life I knew right away it had been deep and rather far. I once felt one even bigger one in the Peru-Brazil frontier that caused no damage at all but rattled the Earth 2000 miles around. The Deeper the EQ, the larger the area it is felt, but the less the damage done.

I think that SO is mistaking correlation with causation. Something disturbs the entire solar system and causes coronal holes in the sun and EQs in the Earth at the same time.

Anybody that pays attention to the sun knows that... and so do some CME's and solar x ray flares...

And out of interest... coronal holes and CME's can be caused by Fleet personnel from "heaven'..

This is along the same general series of fault lines that built the Andes as the 7.5 quake in Ecuador a little over a week ago.

It is 200 miles from Machu Picu which is in-between the two 7+ quakes.

I'm thinking subduction faults are quake prone during supermoons.

The closer the moon is the greater the tidal forces and at some point it all gives.
