Rare Fish Never Seen in Northern Hemisphere Washes Up in Santa Barbara California
Earthquake Incoming!!!

A rare fish that looks more alien than aquatic washed up in Santa Barbara County, scientists said Wednesday.

The mola tecta, or hoodwinker sunfish, has never been seen before in the Northern Hemisphere, let alone Southern California. It wasn't that long ago that the fish was discovered to exist at all. This species of sunfish, recently found on a New Zealand beach, was the first to be discovered in the last 125 years.

"This is why it's so intriguing why it has turned up in California," she said. "We know it has the temperate distribution around here and off the coast of Chile, but then how did it cross the equator and turn up by you guys? It's intriguing what made this fish cross the equator.

I have fished Southern California for over 50 years.
Sunfish have been here the whole time. This title is BS.They get very large, as in over 500 pounds.
BTW, I am not blaming the OP.

I was thinking something similar. With the North Pole drift in high gear, there's bound to be effects in the animal kingdom. But also keep in mind the oceans are vast &we honestly dont know all that much about what lurks beneath the surface.

It's also not impossible for this fish to have been caught up in a ship's ballast tank as a fry in its native waters only to be dumped weeks or months later in another part of the globe & remained there.
(Insert random Finding Nemo meme here)
Zebra mussels from Russia/Ukraine have become a serious problem here in Texas lakes and rivers to the point of damaging municipal water supply lines. First spotted in the U.S. in the mid 1980's... it was, in a way, an invasion of Soviet mollusks we're fighting to this day. thinkab0utit7

I've seen Sunfish too, very large ones, off Dana Point. I think this particular Sunfish is very rare. But they just basically swim in the currents, so I don't see how they would stay in one area very long.

It’s here or showing up due to the oceans heating up.

Absolutely nothing to do with earthquakes.
Just ocean temps. The flow and follow ocean currents.
Not electrical anomalies or some vibrations.
