Only 7 TB's OP? Hehehehe Im just shy of 70. [ link to prntscr.com] Are you running it on windows? Linux? In a docker? I run unraid, and plex it self runs in a docker. Quoting: tbonedude I run on windows server 2016. I use a raid 5 external drive chassis with 4 8tb drives in raid 5. I use the plex media server app on top of the windows 2016. Quoting: Masturbation_Specialist Niice. Have you tried transcoding in ram? It does WONDERS for the server, and responsiveness. Instead of transcoding on a drive (by default, your c drive because it does it in the plex folder) it will use memory space, which is incredibly fast. In my testing it went from transcoding like normal at 7-10 seconds on a drive, to about half a second in ram. The entire server felt snappier after doing this. Quoting: tbonedude I haven't tried it yet. I never noticed much sluggishness but i'm running 64gb of ram, i5 quad core processor. I also truly only run one or maybe two streams max at a time.
